Grand Food Journal

Editorial policy

Grand Food Journal aims to make food topics clear, useful and proportionate. Editorial work is guided by accuracy, transparent distinctions between information and opinion, and respect for the different ways people cook and eat.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against appropriate sources and take care with names, dates, terminology and historical context. We do not present a preference as a rule or imply that one cooking tradition represents everyone. Readers should be able to tell the difference between established information, a comparison and an editorial interpretation.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made for the reader, not as a promise of favourable coverage to a brand or partner. Any material connection that could affect how a piece is understood is disclosed alongside that content. A collaboration does not guarantee a story or a positive assessment.

Corrections

If a reader spots an error, they can send the relevant passage and any useful context through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making the change clear when it materially affects the meaning of a published piece.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or partner-supported material is clearly identified so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Illustrations may sometimes be AI-generated; when that is the case, we label them accordingly and do not present them as documentary photographs.
